Check Your Tyres
After a long trip, your tyres will have taken quite a beating, so it’s a good idea to get them a good check over. Make sure that there is no dangerous wear, the treads a still good and there is nothing stuck in them. If your tyre treads get too low it stops you from being able to grip the road safely, so make sure to check this properly.
Test Your Brakes
It’s also a good idea to give your brakes a check after your trip. Make sure they are all still in good condition and evenly worn. If one is taking more wear than the others you may need to book in for a re-alignment.
Top Up The Car’s Fluids
This probably goes without saying but your car is likely to have used a substantial amount of its fluids. Make sure to check your brake fluid and washer fluid levels and top them up if you need to. If you let them get too low it can cause some real damage. Checking and topping them up regularly can save you a lot of hassle and expense later on!

After checking things like your brakes and tyres this is probably going to be one of your top priorities. Not only will the outside of your car be dirty but the inside probably isn’t looking much better! So start by clearing out all the sweet packets and drinks bottles then give the inside good dust and vacuum. It’s also a good idea to give the areas that get touched most, like the steering wheel and gear stick, a proper wipe down and disinfect.
