Ceramic coating has certainly risen in popularity recently but what exactly is it and is it good for your car?
What is Ceramic Coating?
Ceramic coating is a great addition to any car wash.
It is a polymer that is applied to the exterior of your car and sets hard creating an additional layer of protection against the elements. This is great for preserving your car’s paintwork and keeping it looking like it has just come off the forecourt! It is important to find a professional who really knows what they are doing to apply the ceramic coat as it can easily go wrong and leave you with some real problems.
Is ceramic coating good for your car?
Our ceramic coating offers a lot of benefits when it comes to keeping your car in top condition. Not only does ceramic coating protect your vehicle from dirt and dust, allowing for easier cleaning but it also protects the paint from UV damage. This means that over the life of the ceramic coat your paintwork won’t fade or become dull. In fact, a ceramic coating will give your car a high shine and beautiful depth to the paintwork, especially if it is a metallic finish.
What can’t a ceramic coat do?
Ceramic coats have a lot of benefits, but there are a couple of things that they can’t prevent. Although they can give your car a lot of protection they can’t stop rock chips and some scratches or the need for your car to be cleaned. It’s true that a ceramic coating prevents general dirt from sticking to your paint and that a quick jet wash will get rid of most of it but it will still take a proper clean to get rid of water spots.
Is it worth it?
A ceramic coating is a worthwhile investment as the benefits to your car and its paintwork over the long term are clear.
A ceramic coating will certainly help to maintain the look of your car as part of your regular upkeep and make cleaning an easier and more enjoyable task. Add this in with your car detailing service, or your car wash.
